Academic Vocabulary

Academic Vocabulary is an interactive, online resource which was developed specifically for the vocabulary needs of international students preparing to take exams or begin postsecondary study in English-speaking countries.

The course contains a variety of exercises aimed at helping you recognize and reproduce 570 of the most frequently-used academic words in English. English for Nursing

The English for Nursing online tutorial is aimed at internationally educated nurses studying or intending to study in Canada or other English speaking countries who require language support at the postsecondary level.

The tutorial consists of 40 hours of English for Nursing focused instruction, with the emphasis on listening and reading. It is intended for students at the high-intermediate to advanced English proficiency levels (IELTS 6). Recommended for internationally educated nurses preparing to work or study or students in a Nursing Bridging Program in English-speaking countries.

The tutorial has two main sections –

  • Academic Listening & Note Taking Skills: This section includes 6 lessons focusing on academic listening and note-taking skills to help you in your Nursing upgrading tutorials. All topics relate to the healthcare field. (includes the outlining method, concept mapping, charting, Cornell method).

Bar Service
