Omnicom's Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) program offers the trainees a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge of English language and culture, teaching awareness, skills and confidence while preparing our graduates for the challenges and rewards of becoming professional ESL teachers. The program is presented in the form of lectures, class discussions, peer techniques and presentations. Group and collaborative work is highly emphasized. Our students receive the benefits of communicative theory and practical training in accordance with the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in real-world classes in our multicultural school. Our instructors are trained in accordance with TESL Canada criteria and have extensive experience with language learners both in Canada and abroad.
|
There are two options for the TESL program:
1. The TESL Certificate Program is 5 weeks including 100 hours of instruction followed by a practicum component that consists of 25 hours of directed observation and practice teaching in real ESL classes.
2. The TESL Diploma is 13 weeks including 280 hours of instruction plus 45 hours of directed observation and practice teaching in real ESL classes.
