English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program // TORONTO SCHOOL
Omnicom School of Languages English for Academic Purposes (EAP ) Program in an intensive, full time program that is geared toward non-native speakers of English who want to improve their skills for entry into a college or university program.
It focuses on reasoning skills ( critical thinking, note taking, group work, projects, etc), academic reading ( examine and discuss essay, academic texts, courseware, skimming to get gist and general impression and conclusion), academic writing (citation, quotation, process writing and editing, documentation, bibliographies, research essays) and academic vocabulary, along with development of research for academic purposes and presentation skills (solo, group, discussions). In order to complete the EAP program, students must have at least 85 % attendance and minimum of 80% on practice Cambridge exam in addition to the 80% passing grade on weekly assignments.
